Small businesses and not-for-profits still hard hit by COVID-19 have so far received more than $12 million in cash grants since the scheme’s second round was launched two weeks ago.
Of the 4123 grant applications to date, 1196 small businesses and not-for-profits – from cafes, restaurants and hotels to clothing retailers, manufacturers, gyms and beauty salons - have received the $10,000 cash grant.
Another 107 small businesses have received a $3,000 grant (ie, they are small businesses who do not employ staff - including sole traders/partnerships - who operate from a commercial premise and are continuing to suffer COVID-19 hardship).
The deadline for applications has been extended from December 14 2020 to midnight February 28, 2021.
