From 1 July 2019, businesses that employ less than 20 people will be required to make the switch to the Australian Taxation Office’s (ATO) Single Touch Payroll Reporting requirements (STPR).
Single Touch Payroll (STP) is a reporting change for employers. It started on 1 July 2018 for employers with 20 or more employees, and is designed to streamline business reporting and to help ensure all Australians get their full superannuation entitlements, give greater transparency and help ensure a level playing field for small business.
Under STP you will report payments such as salaries and wages, pay as you go (PAYG) withholding and superannuation information via your payroll solution each time you pay your employees.
