Dr Anisha Sanghavi, Incredible Smiles

Dr Anisha Sanghavi and her husband Dr Mitesh Sanghavi founded Incredible Smiles, a group of dental practices with five locations around Adelaide. Over the last 13 years, Incredible Smiles has offered a range of services from your general check-ups and hygiene appointments to complex surgical implants and orthodontics.

Anisha studied dentistry in Mumbai, India before migrating to Australia. Describing dentistry as “the perfect blend of art and science”, two passions Anisha had through high school, Anisha loves everything about her work.

After opening their practices, Anisha realised that with little experience in business, they’d have to learnt about business operations, marketing, finance and team management on the go. As their business was coming to life, they realised they lacked connections beyond the dentistry industry and the importance of connecting with other business owners.

The growth of Incredible Smiles has been organic and steady. Having previously participated in multiple business mentoring programs to continue to expand her knowledge of owning and running a business, Anisha was excited about what the Women in Business Advisory Program, delivered by behind closed doors could offer.

The program provided Anisha with structured mentoring and peer learning designed specifically for female business owners. The program included one-on-one mentorship with an experienced business coach, as well as group sessions with six other women business leaders. These sessions provided a comfortable and collaborative environment to share real challenges and workshop solutions across industries.

Anisha was able to directly apply insights from these sessions to strategic decisions within Incredible Smiles.

“The program shed light on the importance of establishing a strong leadership team and facilitating that team with monthly meetings for continued support. This is as well as learning how to consolidate the complex accounting for our seven entities, this goes on behind the scenes. “

The program also helped guide Anisha through the next stage of growth. She was eager to add a team member to the leadership group, however, was uncertain on how best to structure it given they have five different locations. Being able to talk through these decisions with other business owners allowed Anisha to use their experience and advice to make a well-informed decision.

The team at Incredible Smiles are proud to be making a positive impact on people’s lives as well as being involved in the local community. Through hiring locals, they are helping to boost the economy. They are passionate about continuing to learn and grow by using advances in technology to expand their offerings and refine their practices
