Small Business Fundamentals Program

Tailored support to help you build your business know-how.


An initiative in South Australia's Small Business Strategy 2023 - 2030, the Small Business Fundamentals Program is an opportunity for small business owners to build knowledge and capabilities in areas such as finance and investment, management, strategic planning, marketing and communications, human resources and more.

The programs will be delivered through workshops, seminars, mentoring, training sessions and more, and will help your business with access to essential knowledge, assisting you to sustainably grow your businesses.


Spread across regions throughout SA, the program will be delivered by 10 partner organisations giving you access to subsidised programs at low cost.

Polaris Small Business Fundamentals Program

Free business networking events, one-to-one consultations, workshops, and a several opportunities for discounted mentoring programs for local business owners. Delivered by City of Salisbury

Southern Business Mentoring Program

Business leaders will build fundamental knowledge and capability in areas critical to long-term business sustainability and growth, through workshops and mentoring sessions. Delivered by the City of Marion

Business SA Business Fundamentals Program

A series of workshops: business model canvas, sales strategies, business strategies for growth, marketing and digital strategies, people strategies in business and customer experience strategies and mentoring sessions. Delivered by Business SA.

Yorke and Mid North Small Business Fundamentals – Business 2 Business Advisory Program

Workshops, follow up meetings, one-on-one training sessions, and extended case management services as required. Delivered by Regional Development Australia Yorke and Mid North

Wine Industry Small Business Growth and Resilience Workshops

Workshops covering topics such a strategic planning, branding, marketing and engagement in the digital age; communication and negotiation skills for business leaders; and resilience in a challenging environment. Delivered by South Australian Wine Industry Association Incorporated.

Business for Good: Social Enterprise Sector Development Program

This is an 18-month program delivered across three streams that include early advice, information and referrals, group workshops and an advisory support service consisting of a social procurement readiness program and a business growth coaching program.
