Recently, there has been a focus on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace.
Employers are responsible for ensuring the safety of their workers, which includes supporting mental health and wellbeing. Governments are also addressing "psychosocial hazards" that can harm mental health. We know that taking care of your mental health and wellbeing can lead to better health, ability to manage stress, improved relationships and greater output, productivity and job satisfaction.
But many of the options aiming to help businesses develop a culture of wellbeing – including ours – are difficult for smaller businesses to access. Small businesses may not have the time, resources, or financial capacity, to invest in solutions to support their wellbeing and may therefore miss out.
To help solve this problem, South Australia's Office for Small and Family Business has awarded Be Well Co and our partner organisation Gallagher Bassett, a grant to provide small and family business and sole traders throughout South Australia free access to our leading workplace wellbeing training offerings. This enables us to empower small businesses to take steps to support their wellbeing and help their business thrive.
As part of this grant, we’re hosting a practical session tailored for small businesses:
Be Well Foundations (1-day, 9:30am - 3:30pm): In a full day deep-dive for anyone working in small business, get some of the latest scientific insights into ways to improve your mental health and wellbeing. Explore a variety of mental health topics, including stress management, countering thinking traps, exploring meaning and purpose, mindfulness, and much more. Develop a plan to build ongoing wellbeing habits and embed activities into your work routine.
