As part of a broader $73 million Drought Support Package, grants of up to $1,500 have been introduced to assist small businesses and farming families dealing with the financial impact of prolonged dry conditions.
The grants, delivered through the Rural Business Support Relief Fund, can be used to help cover essential expenses, such as:
- utility bills
- council rates
- vehicle repairs
- medical costs
- school-related fees
- household needs.
This funding is designed to offer direct, practical support, easing short-term financial pressure and helping regional businesses continue their operations during difficult seasonal conditions. This provides an opportunity for small business owners to access immediate assistance and maintain their operations during ongoing drought conditions.
Additional support for small businesses impacted through drought will be available soon.
Farming families and rural small and family business owners can also access free financial counselling by contacting Rural Business Support on 1800 836 211 or by visiting www.ruralbusinesssupport.org.au
