Run a family business? Grow your skills and capabilities with bespoke workshops

Family businesses make a significant contribution to the state’s economy.

Unlike regular businesses, family-owned enterprises experience unique challenges that can affect their operational efficiency, including succession planning, legal compliance and governance.

South Australian family businesses can now sign up to business fundamental workshops that specifically help build skills and knowledge in these areas and drive sustainable growth for your family business.

Delivered by the Family Business Association, participants can access three education workshops, at a subsidised rate, focusing on core family business fundamentals:

  • Succession planning – Get the tools and information you need on leadership succession, family business development, ownership and leadership configuration and transitions.
  • Governance – Boost your knowledge Covering governance structures, family business roles, and the Family Business Governance Practice Framework.
  • Legal compliance – Information on legal, statutory and obligations, directors’ duties, and the Legal Corporations Act.

Workshops run for 3 hours and are available both in-person in Adelaide and online.

The first workshop kicks off on Tuesday, 28 May.
