Paid leave for family and domestic violence now available

From February 1, employees who work for large or medium businesses – including casuals – can take paid family and domestic violence leave at their full pay rate for the hours they would have worked if they were working.

Small businesses have an extra six months to adjust to the change, meaning the start date for those employees will be August 1.

You can learn more about the new measures here: New paid family and domestic violence leave - Fair Work Ombudsman

Measures introduced with the legislation prevent any mention of family and domestic violence leave on a payslip.

If you or someone you know is affected by sexual assault, domestic or family violence, call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732 or visit www.1800RESPECT.org.au.
