PayDay Super is here

With Payday Super now in effect, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has released a new paying super for your employees factsheet to help employers understand their super obligations.

Under Payday Super, employers are required to pay superannuation contributions at the same time as wages. While the eligibility rules for super have not changed, employers must continue to pay the correct amount of super to eligible workers and into the correct fund.

Businesses should also be aware that the ATO Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH) closed permanently on 1 July 2026. Employers who previously used the service will need to use an alternative payment solution, such as payroll software with integrated super payment functions or a commercial clearing house.
