If you run a food business, SA Health wants to hear how South Australia’s Food Act 2001 is working for you and where it could be improved.

Public consultation is now open to explore how the Food Act could be updated to continue protecting public health and supporting food businesses.

The review covers food business notification, reporting food tampering incidents, sharing business information to protect public health and adopting guidelines. You can also suggest other areas where food laws could work better.

This is an initial consultation, with no changes to the law currently being proposed. Your feedback will help identify options for future improvements.
