The OSFB will endeavour to assess each application within 10 business days, subject to additional information that may be required from applicants as part of the assessment process, or high volumes of applications.
If your application includes items from Section 9 - Other unique projects/equipment ofEligible Project Activities and Expenditure List, assessment of your application may take longer than a standard application as independent third-party verification of the proposed energy efficiencies may be undertaken by OSFB.
You can check the status of your application any time via the application portal, SmartyGrants.
Goods / services purchased, ordered or deposit paid prior to the purchase approval date of your application are not eligible for reimbursement.
Projects may commence any time after you accept the Grant Agreement and Acceptance Form issued by the OSFB. Note this must be accepted within 14 calendar days of it being sent to you.
You will have 6 months to complete purchases and installation and apply for reimbursement from the date a Grant Agreement and Acceptance Form is sent to you.

Emails from these addresses may go into spam or junk mail folders, and it is your responsibility to check these folders as some steps during the application process have strict timeframes to respond.
The OSFB may contact you to verify your business bank account details. However, please note we will never ask you to confirm your full business bank account number.
Every business with an active ABN that meets the eligibility requirements can apply for a grant under this Program.
Eligible businesses are determined by the ABN. You can submit only one application with all proposed goods/services to be purchased, including across different locations.
Only one application can be submitted, per ABN.
However, if one of those locations is part of an embedded network, you may submit/be represented in a separate group application, provided there is no duplication of funded activities for that business location and the total funding does not exceed the maximum grant value of $50,000.
For example, Business ABC applies to purchase equipment with a total value of $50,000 (Project 1). The grant value is $25,000.
Business ABC is also part of a separate group application for a different business location. Business ABC’s contribution is 20% of the group application, being a total value of $20,000 (Project 2). The grant value is $10,000.
The combined grant values of Project 1, and the business’ contribution towards Project 2, is $35,000 and therefore does not exceed the maximum grant amount of $50,000 under this Program.
You will need to obtain permission from your landlord or property manager to undertake any proposed work(s). You will also need to confirm that you have obtained permission when completing the declaration part of the application form.
