Application Guide

When you apply, you’ll need to be able to show that the new equipment or solutions will save energy. To give you an idea of the potential energy and cost savings, we have created an Energy Savings Calculator.

If you need help to understand more about energy savings in your business and how you can take advantage of this program, you can participate in a free Small Business Sustainability Workshop or 1:1 consultation with leading energy consultants, 2XE.

An eligible business must:

• have a valid and active ABN
• be registered for GST (not-for-profit organisations not registered for GST will need to provide their most recent lodged tax return confirming an annual turnover of greater than $75,000)
• be located and operating in South Australia, and be a small business electricity customer on a separately metered business tariff consuming less than 160 MWh of electricity per year; or have an Australia-wide grouped payroll of less than $1.5 million in 2023-24
• not be a home-based business
• not be a public company
• own or lease the premises where work or goods will be installed or used
• be able to provide matched funding of at least 50 per cent of eligible costs.

Quotes

In addition to gathering all the required business information, you will need to source at least one quote from a third-party provider for works to be completed and at least one quote from proposed goods to be purchased up to the value of $15,000.

For works or costs above $15,000, two quotes will need to be sourced and included in your application.

Estimated savings

You will need to estimate your savings using the Energy Consumption Reduction Calculator and include a copy of the calculations in your application.
