Giving back to the environment.

In a net zero future, small businesses have a crucial role to play in monitoring and reducing our population's carbon footprint.

Being more environmentally sustainable can benefit businesses at all levels, including:

  • attracting new customers seeking environmentally friendly products and services
  • attracting and retaining staff looking to work for companies who are actively addressing climate change
  • being part of local and global supply chains with emissions reduction targets
  • cost savings from becoming more energy and water efficient and reducing waste.

The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grants.

The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grants were designed to support eligible small businesses and not-for-profits to purchase new, energy efficient equipment, or to make improvements to reduce and manage energy use and costs.

These grants could help businesses to:

  • adopt more energy efficient practices
  • provide environmentally friendly products and services
  • avoid and reduce waste
  • adopt new technologies and processes.

The grants enabled up to 50 per cent matched funding through reimbursement of eligible business expenditure.

For the purchase of equipment or solutions between $5,000 and $100,000 (ex-GST), eligible businesses could apply for a grant to receive between $2,500 and $50,000 back.

Grant applications closed on Friday 29 November 2024.
