More support for fisheries and aquaculture businesses affected by the algal bloom

Eligible commercial fishing and aquaculture operations can now access increased support under the State Government’s Algal Bloom Fisheries and Aquaculture Assistance Grant Program.

A third payment of up to $100,000 is available to eligible businesses who continue to be impacted by the algal bloom.

An additional employee retention payment is also available to help you retain existing employees and cover their wages.

To be eligible, businesses must show, as a direct result of the algal bloom, a verified decline in business turnover of 30 per cent or more during a subsequent three-month impact period.

An online calculator is available to help you check eligibility and estimate your grant amount for a third grant payment.

The third payment is available once a business has received the first and second payment.

To apply for an additional payment, log in to the grant application portal and complete the customised grant application form.
