Spend Your Support campaign to help River Murray businesses

Small businesses along the River Murray will be the focus of a new Brand SA campaign, encouraging South Australians to ‘Spend Their Support’ for flood-affected communities in the lead up to Christmas.

Spend Your Support, launched Thursday 8 December, uses a dedicated online marketplace to connect shoppers with local traders – allowing them to buy direct from the region at home and drive much-needed sales in the area over the festive period and beyond.

More than 50 businesses – including wineries, gourmet producers and tourism operators – have already signed up to the new campaign, with more stores set to come on board throughout summer.

Shoppers can use the online marketplace to buy products, experiences or gift cards from one of the listed businesses, injecting vital funds into River communities preparing for a historic flood event.

Brand SA’s new call-to-arms campaign is set to deliver a much-needed boost to businesses facing an uncertain new year, as rising floodwaters damage residents’ livelihoods and impact tourism.

Spend Your Support runs until March with scope to extend if needed.

Shop Local SA will be involved in the campaign to ensure River Murray businesses receive ongoing marketing, IT and hands-on support.

Various supports for businesses are also available as part of the South Australian Government’s $51.6 million initial financial assistance package.
