Boosting business sustainability

Boosting business sustainability

Large businesses around the world are setting targets to reduce emissions, which will require small businesses in their supply chains to be actively monitoring and addressing their carbon footprint, alongside other social impacts such as employee welfare.

A new Small Business Sustainability Support Program will soon help South Australian small businesses develop strategies to improve their environmental sustainability, reduce emissions and implement sustainable business practices.

The Office for Small and Family Business in partnership with the Department of Environment and Water is looking to procure a subject matter expert to deliver this Program in 2024.

The successful delivery partner will undertake business sustainability assessments and deliver a series of capability-building workshops for the South Australian small business community.

Adopting environmentally sustainable practices benefits business owners in numerous ways, including attracting new customers who are seeking environmentally friendly products and services and the attraction and retention of staff and business partners.

Cost benefits can include savings from becoming more energy and water efficient, avoiding, and reducing waste.
