New support for drought-affected small businesses

Small and family businesses in drought affected regions of South Australia can now access targeted support to manage financial challenges and build long term resilience.

Funded under the State Government’s $73 million Drought Support Package, the new support includes:

  • Financial counselling: Up to 30 hours of free, confidential advice provided by Rural Business Support to help navigate financial challenges and develop recovery and continuity plans.
  • Small Business Fundamentals Program: Delivered by Regional Development Australia, the program offers mentoring, training and workshops on topics such as cashflow, marketing and customer retention, succession planning, and more.

The support builds on the State Government’s drought support grants, which provide up to $1,500 in practical financial assistance to eligible small businesses who are facing financial hardship.
