New translation features on business.sa.gov.au

More than a quarter of small business are owned and operated by our flourishing migrant population in South Australia. These businesses help to form an important part of our social fabric, and many of their owners speak a language other than English at home.

For these small businesses, websites play an important role in providing information about government services and resources available.

Visitors to the Office for Small and Family Business website can now translate the content into their preferred language and access several other accessibility options.

New website features include:

  • Translation services – users can choose from 131 languages and dialects, with audio support
  • A magnifying glass to increase the zoom based on the curser location on a page
  • Page masking - this allows only a selected section of the website to be viewed. This can increase focus and reduce distraction for users
  • Colour options to increase visibility based on a variety of high contrast options
  • Various text styling options, including focus text, font and options; and
  • A screen reader.

A key initiative under South Australia’s Small Business Strategy 2023-2030, business information in languages other than English will support culturally and linguistically diverse business owners across South Australia.
