Register for a Family Business workshop

Family businesses are unique - they blend personal relationships with professional responsibilities, creating both opportunities and challenges that differ from traditional small businesses.

While they offer strong values, legacy-building potential, and deep-rooted trust, they also face complex issues such as succession planning, governance structures, and balancing family dynamics with business decisions.

To help navigate these complexities, as part of the Small Business Fundamentals Program, the Family Business Association (FBA), is hosting a series of workshops designed to address the specific needs of family-run companies.

These workshops are crafted to provide practical knowledge across three fundamental areas:

  1. Succession Planning: Transitioning leadership is a complex process that requires early and thoughtful planning. This workshop delves into the essentials of succession planning, helping you understand its importance and guiding you through the key elements to ensure a smooth transition.
  2. Governance: Establishing robust governance structures is vital for maintaining clear communication, reducing conflicts, and nurturing future leaders within the family business. This session explores effective governance practices to align your business's direction and accountability.
  3. Legal Considerations: Understanding the legal responsibilities of family business members is crucial. This workshop addresses the legal aspects of participation, ensuring you are well-informed about your roles and obligations as business owners and office holders.
