Thirty-eight South Australian women business owners have been selected to participate in the second round of the Women in Business Advisory Program, a key initiative of the South Australian Government’s $4 million Women in Business program.
Successful participants will complete a year-long development program alongside a membership with behind closed doors.
These women are from a diverse range of industries, including the not-for-profit sector, health care, retail, construction, professional services, events, hospitality, IT and farming.
Two are First Nations business owners, and several are in regional areas including Keith, Port Elliot, Barossa Valley and Meningie.
Meanwhile, 37 participants completed the program in 2023, reporting the greatest benefit was the opportunity to network, connect and create a community.
Of those surveyed, 81% said staffing levels had either increased or been maintained, 25% said they had expanded into new markets and 31% said they experienced growth of up to 40% while participating in the program.
The $4 million Women in Business program is an initiative of the Government of South Australia’s Office for Small and Family Business and South Australia’s Small Business Strategy 2023 – 2030.
